ADHD Coach - What is ADHD Coaching?
Many young adults and adults with ADHD have complicated challenges that are not always addressed in school or at the job. Many of these bright and capable people often need additional understanding and assistance with organization strategies, time management, study skills, future goal setting, life skills and support with peer and employer relationships. Lynn consults with her clients via live video conferencing or phone, worldwide.
Students and adults who have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD have difficulty in school from kindergarten through college, into adulthood and in their job/career life. ADHD affects all areas of a person's life from school to home; whether the ADHD is the inattentive, hyperactive-impulsive type or a combination of both.
According to the Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA) Subcommittee on ADHD Coaching, "Coaching assists clients with ADHD to stay focused on their goals, face obstacles, address core ADHD-related issues like time management, organization, self-esteem, gain clarity and function more effectively."
Through weekly sessions via live video conferencing, plus regular check-ins, Lynn will support a client to understand the symptoms of ADHD, set goals, create awareness and commit to action. As a sounding board for their experiences, clients will be empowered to move forward in their lives.
While coaching is not a substitute for therapy or prescribed medication, Lynn believes that a personal ADHD coaching relationship is a very effective and important part of the path to success. More and more experts that treat ADHD are advocating for coaching as the piece of the puzzle that has been missing.
